Peppers are vegetables with a remarkably high content of vitamin C. It exceeds lemons in this respect because it has up to 5 times more. A significant amount of this valuable vitamin can be found in yellow pepper (approx. 180 mg), slightly less in red pepper (approx. 127 mg), and the least in green pepper (approx. 80 mg). All types of peppers have a lot of beta-carotene, which has anti-aging properties and improves the condition of hair, skin, and nails.
Peppers belong to nightshade vegetables. Taste is very color dependent. In Poland, the most popular is red pepper, which is the most intense and sweet. Green pepper has a slightly bitter taste, and yellow pepper is the most neutral.
The largest pepper producers in the world are Mexico and India. Significant cultivation of this vegetable is also found in China. Poland is one of the leaders in the European market.
