Cantaloupe is a plant from the gourd family with sweet, edible, and fleshy fruits. Interestingly, it is a type of cucumber. This fruit has been particularly appreciated in alternative medicine, which treats it as a natural remedy for rheumatism or kidney and liver problems. Cantaloupe also regulates blood pressure mainly due to its high potassium content. Its flesh also contains amino acids, such as citrulline, which improve the urea cycle and help eliminate ammonia. 

These factors, in turn, make cantaloupe a diuretic. The high content of protein, fats, carbohydrates, and minerals contributes to the extraordinary nutritional value of this fruit. It is therefore worth consuming it to supplement one’s daily diet and nourish the body. The antioxidant enzyme - nitrous oxide reduces fatigue and stress because it blocks the release of free radicals.
